ICY DOCK Dual 2.5" HDD Rack With 3.5" Device Slot MB322SP-B Unboxing, Review, Installation
Today we are going to look at the MB322SP-B 5.25" hard drive bay from ICY DOCK. This device allows you to stick 2X 2.5" HDD's along with a single 3.5" device into a single 5.25" bay within your desktop. The bay can be bought for $26 off Amazon and with the addition of one of ICY DOCKS's 2.5" hard drive bracket adapters it can fit up to 4X 2.5" HDD's. Overall I was very happy and even impressed with the MB322SP-B. Since this bay is part of the ExpressCage series, ICY DOCK's cheaper consumer line of products, I was initially worried that build quality was going to be an issue. After handling the drive bay for a few minutes I came to the conclusion that, while it was not as beefy as drive bays from their tough armor series, this drive bay was definitely a solid piece of equipment. On top of that the drive bay was easy to use and easy to install. When comparing benchmark results between a direct SATA connection to my motherboard vs. my SSD hooked up through the drive bay I found that the bay induced no noticeable speed reductions. I did find it a bit difficult to install a hard drive into the 3.5" device slot but I think this was only due to the fact that the hard drive I was using was on the thinner side. Also I would have liked to see functionality of the LED indication lights. Both of these are only minor issues which do not detract from my overall opinion of the mobile rack. This is a great solution if the inside of your desktop is tight on space and you are looking to add some additional hard drives / 2.5" devices. Ease of use is excellent, quality is great, and it won't break the bank.
ICY DOCK Dual 2.5" to 3.5" Hard Drive Bay Bracket Unboxing, Overview, Installation (MB290SP-B)
In today's installment I am going to unbox, install, and review the EZ-FIT LITE Dual 2.5" HDD / SDD to 3.5" bay adapter. This adapter allows you to install two 2.5" hard drives into a single 3.5" hard drive bay within your system. It can be bought for $7.50 off Amazon, the link will be below. Overall the ICY DOCK hard drive adapter bracket was a great solution for adding 2X 2.5" drives into a single bay. Its overall quality was good, installation took under two minutes, and it takes only a few seconds to swap out 2.5" drives thanks to its simple yet effective tool-free design. While a traditional 5400RPM spinning hard drive was running in the unit I could hear no noticeable noise coming from the bracket, the plastic casing does a great job of suppressing sound. I was very happy with the bracket by the end of the review. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a simple, cheap, and easy to use solution for adding 2.5" drives into their system.

In today's installment I will unbox and review the ICY DOCK Tough Armor MB994SK 4x2.5" HDD SAS SATA Rack which can be found on Amazon for $75. Right off the bat let me just say that due to the hefty price tag I feel that this enclosure is targeted more towards the enterprise market. Though, that does not mean that it cannot be considered a good consumer product. First impressions were very good. The drive cage is incredibly rugged. The entire enclosure is composed of very high grade steel allowing absolutely no give when I attempted to bend it with my hands. There is a video where someone runs this cage over with a car and after handling it in person I firmly believe that it would survive such an incident. Also included in the package were drive screws, screws for the installation of the cage into the PC, and keys for the caddy locks. Removing and inserting the drive caddys from the cage was very easy. Just release the arm and pull the bay out. Installing a drive into the caddy is also simple. Just line up the screw-holes and insert the screws. While testing the drive using my desktop I found that there was no deviation between the drive speeds while connected directly to my PCs SATA ports and the speeds while it was inside the drive cage. While it was in operation I did find that the internal fans were just a bit loud, it was nothing too bad but it could become annoying after awhile. Installing the drive cage into a desktop took only a few minutes and it fit exactly as the previously installed DVD drive did. I would definitely consider this a great product but I do still believe that it is a tad bit expensive for the every day consumer. ICY dock makes cheaper versions of this enclosure (the non tough armor series) which I will link below in the description.

Icy Dock has a new SSD to desktop hard drive conversion kit that is very easy to work with. It has a tool-less design and accepts SSD and notebook hard drives of varying heights. It essentially converts those drives into a form factor that will fit into a NAS or other drive enclosures that only accept a desktop drive. This is a revision on their prior EZConvert design. This new one has better airflow and is much easier to work with. I recommend it!

Icy Dock ICYRaid MB662U3-2S Dual bay USB 3.0 External RAID Enclosure Review
There are a number of dual drive adapters/enclosures out there, but few that have integrated RAID controllers. Enclosures lacking the RAID controller require the computer's operating system to manage the array, making it difficult to move the drive across various operating systems. There are four different array modes supported, including RAID 1 (mirrored), high performance RAID 0 (striping), JBOD (individual disks), and BIG (combined storage). A switch on the back determines the operating mode. Icy Dock also smartly put some safety controls on board that will prevent accidental erasure of drives inserted in the array - two drives I installed with data on them were still accessible in JBOD mode even though I had selected RAID 0 on the rear switch. The RAID mode only kicked in after I pressed the recessed reset button the back. Drive installation is very easy and requires no tools. Simply slide in a bare drive and close the door and you'll be ready to go. Performance is excellent, especially considering the price. I was able to sustain write speeds of about 340-350 megabytes per second and read speeds of just under 400 megabytes per second using two SSD disks configured in RAID 0. I recommend it!

This product is perfect for those trying to get a notebook sized SSD drive into a hard drive array that only accepts larger 3.5" desktop class hard drives. This plastic casing securely 'converts' the smaller drive to the larger one allowing it to fit perfectly into any 3.5" drive bay. The SATA connectors and screws all line up the same way and the plastic casing offers good ventilation to keep the drive running cool inside. I've noticed no performance degradation using this device and I highly recommend it.
